Brussels is at its best in warm weather, and the city has a small but worthwhile collection of rooftop bars and elevated terraces. Here are the four worth knowing about.
- Le Jardin (Rue du Marché aux Poulets, Centre) — a large rooftop terrace on Boulevard Anspach with views across the capital. Cocktails, organic wines, beers, and food options. Within walking distance of several Rezidentz buildings.
- Secret Rooftop by Warwick (Rue Duquesnoy, Centre) — sixth floor of the Warwick Hotel, with panoramic views including the European quarter roofline and Grand-Place. No reservations — first come, first served.
- Rooftop Perché at Jam Hotel (Chaussée de Charleroi, Saint-Gilles) — open from 4pm to midnight, with pool access, food, drinks, and views over Ixelles rooftops. More of an event than just a drink.
- Sofitel Rooftop (Avenue Louise) — refurbished seventh-floor terrace operating as a modern brasserie with Brussels views, led by chef Jean-Philippe Watteyne. The most refined option on this list.
Brussels rooftop culture is less developed than, say, Paris or London — which makes the spots that exist feel more special. When the city gets a stretch of warm weather, these four fill up quickly. Go early, or on a weekday evening.
